Makers.im connects people looking for unique goods with independent sellers from the Isle of Man. When you shop on Makers.im, you can choose from handmade items created by independent Manx based sellers. Each item on Makers.im is listed and sold by a seller who creates handmade items. There’s no huge Makers.im warehouse. When you shop on Makers.im, you’re directly supporting Manx independent sellers who manage their own orders and inventory.

Shopping on Makers.im works the same as anywhere else online. However, you’re not buying your items from Makers.im, the company. Instead, you’re buying directly from independent Manx sellers.

Shipping Questions

What shipping methods are available?

Sellers are responsible for dispatching their sold items to buyers. Each seller has their own shipping prices and times. When you purchase a product from a seller, you are advised of the shipping cost and the delivery timescales (e.g. Royal Mail 24, Royal Mail 48, Free Postage or local pickup etc).

Do you ship internationally?

This is dependant on the seller. Some will, some won’t. If you want to send a message to the seller before you purchase to confirm shipping, you can access the Makers Messenger from the sellers shop page.

How long will it take to get my package?

This is dependant on the sellers shipping rates. Some may offer expedited services, some may not. When you purchase a product from a seller, you are advised of the shipping cost and the delivery timescales (e.g. Royal Mail 24, Royal Mail 48, Free Postage or local pickup etc).

Can I track the status of my order?

You can track the status of your order by using the Track Your Order link. This will show you the status of your order with the seller and not tracking for shipping. If you have selected a postage rate that includes tracking, you will receive an email from the seller with a tracking number and link to the relevant tracking site when they have shipped your order.

What payment methods are accepted?

Currently, we use PayPal as the payment mechanism for all orders. You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay this way. You can pay without having to set an account up.

How do I place an order?

Before you purchase, create yourself an account. It’s quick and free. On any page of the Makers.im site, click Register at the top right of the site. Before you place an order, look over the shop’s policies by clicking the Seller link in on any shop’s homepage. Check to see if they accept returns and exchanges, offer delivery upgrades, or give refunds. Have a question about an item or order? Get in touch with the seller directly. They can help you with questions like: Do you have this in another size or colour? Can you dispatch this faster? When can I expect my order? Once you have registered and created your account, you can use Makers Messenger to contact any seller. This is accessible through the sellers homepage.

How can I cancel my order?

Accepting your request is up to the individual seller. Submitting a cancellation request doesn’t automatically cancel your order. All items on Makers.im are sold by independent sellers. Each seller has their own set of policies that you can find on their shop homepage. Check the shop’s homepage to see their cancellation policy. You can request a cancellation of an order through the Makers Messenger which is accessible through the sellers homepage.

Do I need an account to place an order?

No you don’t. But if you do, it’s quick and free. On any page of the Makers.im site, click Register at the top right of the site.

How can I return a product?

This is dependant on the seller. Each seller can set their own returns policy which is visible in their shop page. Knowing what the policy is will help you if something is not delivered or arrives broken.
