Halcyon Days Hand Thrown Porcelain

At my studio in Ballaugh, Isle of Man, I make a range of hand thrown (on a potter’s wheel) and hand decorated porcelain pieces.

My pottery includes bowls of all shapes and sizes, plates, cups and saucers, mugs, vases, oil burners, egg cups, and a variety of lidded pots. My preferred colours are turquoises, greens, blues and purples but I occasionally experiment with other colours. My main inspiration is the natural life of the Isle of Man – principally the sea and sky, but also the flora and fauna. The glazes I use are of varying shades and range from high gloss to matt and textured finishes. I often mix the textures together. As well as selling from my studio in Ballaugh, where visitors are always welcome, I also display and sell my pottery at the wonderful Manx Wildlife Trust shop in Market Square in Peel.
