This lovely hand-woven scarf was made on a rigid heddle loom from Crofter Fair Isle effect yarn in muted shades of light and darker grey, sage green, violet & ivory. It reminds me of our wild mountain landscape with its shades of bracken, quartz, stone and heather. The yarn used for both the warp and the weft is a blend of 60% acrylic, 25% cotton & 15% wool. The result is a random plaid pattern which feels very comfortable and soft against the skin.  Perfect for those who don’t enjoy wool next to their skin. The scarf is light and pleasantly warm without being uncomfortably hot. It is finished with a carefully hand-twisted fringe.

Dimensions are a generous: 73in/183cm long (excluding fringe). Length including the fringe is 82in/208cm. Width is 7½in /19cm.

Care instructions: Hand wash only in cool water, cool rinse. Press or squeeze gently to remove excess water or short spin. Do not wring. Gently pull into shape while damp. Do not tumble dry. If really necessary, dry iron using a pressing cloth at a low temperature. Never steam or wet press. Acrylic fibres do not like it.

Created on the Isle of Man in a clean, smoke and pet free environment.
