MOSS GREEN, YELLOW, TAN & CREAM SCARF with BROOCH PIN
This lovely hand-made scarf was woven on a rigid heddle loom using Crofter Fair Isle effect yarn in shades of moss green, yellow, tan & cream. It is rather delicious. The yarn used for both the warp and the weft is a blend of 60% acrylic, 25% cotton & 15% wool. The result is a random plaid pattern which feels very comfortable and soft against the skin. This is perfect for anyone who doesn’t like wool next to their skin. The scarf is light and pleasantly warm without being over hot when worn. It is finished with a carefully hand-twisted fringe. I have added an upcycled ‘enamelled’ brooch pin, with diamante stones to the scarf. I think the brooch really sets off the colours to perfection. It is removable, of course. This is a shorter length scarf to facilitate wearing it as a cravat with the brooch, or just wrapping it around the neck a few times. Dimensions are 56in/142cm long (excluding fringe). Length including the fringe is 70in/178cm. Width is 7½in /19cm.
Care instructions: Hand wash only in cool water, cool rinse. Press or squeeze gently to remove excess water or short spin. Do not wring. Gently pull into shape while damp. Do not tumble dry. If really necessary, dry iron using a pressing cloth at a low temperature. Â Never steam or wet press. Acrylic fibres do not like it.
