Hand-Woven Soft Pastels & Grey Scarf

HAND-WOVEN SCARF IN SOFT PASTEL COLOURS ON A GREY WARP.

This pretty hand-made scarf was woven on my rigid heddle loom from Crofter Fair Isle effect yarn in various gentle, understated colours of soft pink, greys, turquoise, lemon, cream & pale blue.  The yarn used for the weft is a blend of 60% acrylic, 25% cotton & 15% wool. The warp is a soft, pale grey wool. The result is a subtle striped pattern with flecks of random ‘Fair Isle’ markings.  The scarf is light and pleasantly warm without being hot.  It is finished with a hand-twisted fringe.

Dimensions are a very generous:  81in/206cm long (excluding fringe) x 7½in /19.cm wide.  Length including the fringe is 88in/224cm.

Care instructions: Hand wash only in cool water, cool rinse. Press or squeeze gently to remove excess water or short spin. Do not wring. Gently pull into shape while damp. Do not tumble dry. If really necessary, dry iron using a pressing cloth at a low temperature.  Never steam or wet press. Acrylic fibres do not like it.
